Equal rights and group differences in intelligence

It is unwise of left-wingers who believe in equal rights to attack those researching group differences in intelligence (see Stephen Jay Gould’s The Mismeasure of Man) since it risks creating the impression among the general public that a belief in equal rights is contingent on there being no group differences in intelligence. If you are a believer in equal rights, as I am, that is a dangerous position to take since it’s possible that GWAS involving huge datasets (n = > 1m) will establish that group differences in intelligence are genetically influenced, thereby confirming the research findings of some behavioural geneticists and educational psychologists. Believers in equal rights should be preparing for this possibility by making it clear that the case for equal rights isn’t contingent on there being no ineradicable group differences, rather than irresponsibly giving the impression that it is.
